

Leverage Marketing Group Wins Design Award for Self-Promotion Campaign
Newtown Agency Brings Home Prestigious "American Graphic Design
Award" for Fourth Year in a Row
(NEWTOWN, Conn., Sept. 5, 2001) - The Goodwick/Liazon Leverage Marketing Group, a Newtown-based marketing communications firm integrating business-to-business and consumer disciplines, has recently been awarded a 2001 American Graphic Design Award in the category of "Self-Promotion". This is the fourth year in a row the agency has been nationally recognized for "Excellence in Communication and Graphic Design."
The award-winning design involved a series of four postcards sent to current and potential clients, which highlighted some of the agency's strengths by examining client experience. These included work with clients in The Connecticut Technology Council's Fast 50, the food industry, and two case studies involving paving stone manufacturer Unilock and fishing-tackle leader Pure Fishing, for whom Leverage created the largest game promotion in the history of the industry.
The awards competition, sponsored by the internationally known commercial arts publication, Graphic Design: usa, is known as one of the most prestigious in the industry. The agency was one of 10,000 entrants and among fewer than 700 winning Ad and MarCom design groups in a variety of categories, according to this year's awards director, Laura K. Roth.
This is the third time Leverage has been recognized for self-promotion. In last year's winning design, Leverage's pre-merger entities, Liazon Marketing and Goodwick Associates, were spelled out using Scrabble¨ tiles under the theme "Play to Win in 2000." The creative was accompanied by pocket Scrabble¨ boards, reminding recipients that Scrabble¨, Liazon and Goodwick all call Newtown home. Goodwick also won in 1998 for a separate postcard campaign. Leverage has previously been recognized in several other categories as well, including "Brochures" and "Case Studies".

Leverage's award-winning creative team includes Rich Brzozowski, Heather Patrick, and Peter Howland. Due to the favorable response of the initial mailings, the team will be releasing additional postcards throughout the year.
Leverage Marketing Group currently services over a dozen accounts, including Cendant Mobility, Coca-Cola, The Finn Commerce and Technology Center, Sealed Air Corporation, Shaws and Unilock.
